Business Momentum Club Inaugural Meeting

A group of us got together last week to launch a new venture, the Business Momentum Club www.businessmomentumclub.ie , at the NSC in Mahon Cork. Presentations were given by:

 

 

Seamus Parfrey of Parfrey Murphy Chartered Accountants www.parfreymurphy.ie

Seamus spoke about the importance of knowing your numbers in order to run your business effectively. He gave a number of real-world examples of how knowing their numbers allowed businesses to increase profitability.  

Sophie Crosbie of SHC HR Services http://ie.linkedin.com/in/sophiecrosbie

Sophie gave a talk about how stress is bad for business and how it can be reduced significantly using good HR techniques. She demonstrated how good people management skills were not just a compliance issue but made good business sense.

Michael McCann of CannDoIT

Michael talked about the need for time recording software and how it can improve cash flow and increase productivity in service industries.

Jeroen Proos of Think Tank www.think-tank.ie

Jeroen showed the power of branding with a case study of how his company rebranded the Fabulous Fabric Company http://www.thefabulousfabriccompany.ie/ and repositioned it for enormous success

Vincent Walshe of WSI www.wsiwebscore.com

Vincent talked about how to make your website make money by identifying your customers, analysing the competition and focusing on what you want the website to do

Don Cullinane of Ology Business Coaching www.ologycoaching.com/doncullinane

Don explained the value of having an independent business coach to allow business owners to “See the wood from the trees”.

Congratulations to Peter O’Hanlon of O’Hanlon and O’Dowd Solicitors in Glanmire who won the €10,000 consultancy prize on the night.

We got very positive feedback from the many people who attended the event and as a result we are planning on holding a similar event on 25th January 2011 to build on this event.
